Police in southern Italy on Friday arrested a 19-year-old Nigerian on
suspicion of murdering 60-year-old Caterina Susca outside the coastal city of Bari.
Susca wa found semi-naked with a plastic bag over her head at her apartment in Torre a Mare. Her skull had been crushed and her husband was quoted by local media as describing the crime scene as "something out of a horror film".
Donald Nwajiobi has confessed to killing Susca, but claims he acted in self-defence after she attacked him with a pair of scissors.
The Nigerian is in prison custody after a judge ruled there was a danger he could kill again and flee.
The investigation continues.
