Gbagaun! gbagaun!!. The Nigeria Football Federation has
warned companies which are not affiliated to it to desist from exploiting the success of the national teams for their own commercial gains.
The NFF was referring to unauthorised advert placements in national newspapers by some unaffiliated companies, immediately after the Super Eagles booked their World Cup ticket to
Brazil at the weekend.
"We are shocked at the penchant of some organisations to sneak into the picture and try to claim they are among those who have been
funding the Super Eagles," the NFF’s marketing consultant Mike Itemuagbor said on Monday.
"The public should be aware that all the companies masquerading as supporters of Super Eagles are only doing so for their ownnmerchantile interests. I will say Coca-Cola and Chivita are guilty in this regard."
Itemuagbor described the trend as
unacceptable and advised companies that want to be affiliated with the national team to do so through the right channels, as the NFF is receptive to more sponsors.
"The Nigeria Football Federation wishes to state without ambiguity that only its partners and sponsors have the rights and privileges to use the name of the Super Eagles for any campaigns, promotions or mentions," he added.
Warning that defaulters who persist with the practice do so at their own risk as the NFF will not hesitate to take legal action against
them.
Gengen-gengen all you who want to place adverts, take cuation now oo 'cause this guys are mouthed now.lol...
