Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared that the country’s senior national team, Super Eagles are well positioned to claim next year’s global ticket this weekend.
Briefing newsmen at the NFF’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, President of the Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari noted that the Federation has put aside Golden Eaglets' World Cup victory and are focusing on ensuring that the
country was not left out among the nations that would fly their flag in Brazil.
According to the NFF boss “the players have resumed training and a good number of them are already in camp. This is a game that we are not taking lightly because of what is at stake.
As a federation, we don’t just want to relax after ensuring that our U-17 players emerged World champions. We are already thinking of how the Super Eagles will further portray this country well in next year’s World Cup."
"Let us pray for this Saturday like we have been doing. Let us go all out to support the Super Eagles. We are on the last lap of this
campaign."
He noted that the National teams were able to record all their landmark achievements thus far as a result of the supports they have gotten from Nigerians, appealing that such supports should be intensified going into Saturday's
game.
Also speaking, Chairman of NFF's Media and Publicity Committee, Chief Emeka Inyama assured that necessary logistics have been put
in place ahead of the second leg tie in Calabar.
The Super Eagles who lead by 2:1 in the first leg played last month in Addis Ababa will host the Ethiopians in the return leg on Saturday, in Calabar.
