ABUJA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chief of coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles Stephen Keshi on Friday released
a list of 23 players for preparations toward the first leg tie of the team's 2014 FIFA World Cup final
qualifying match against Ethiopia.
Spokesperson of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Ademola Olajire said all the players are
expected to arrive at the capital city Abuja between Oct. 6-7.
"The players are to battle for shirts ahead of the first leg match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup final
elimination fixture against Ethiopia's Walya Antelopes in Addis Ababa on Saturday, Oct. 12. The NFA
is making arrangements to have the full squad train for four days in Abuja before the departure to
Addis Ababa on the eve of the game," the football association's mouthpiece explained.
The players captain Vincent Enyeama, as well as England-based midfielders Mikel Obi and Victor
Moses and strikers Brown Ideye and Emmanuel Emenike. A total of 18 overseas-based as well as five
home-based players will represent the West African country in Ethiopia.
The team will be made up of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and six strikers as
it aims for a win in Addis Ababa to make the second leg in Nigeria a much easier session, Olajire
added.
The Super Eagles, Africa's soccer champion, will take on the Antelopes at the Addis Ababa National
Stadium. Both teams will then clash in the return match at the U. J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar,
capital of Nigeria's southern Cross Rivers State, on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The aggregate winners over the two legs will advance to Brazil for the 2014 finals scheduled for June
12 to July 13.
