Culled from allhiphop Jay Z once said “while y’all record, I recall” and yesterday (Thursday) radio personality Star revealed an old tale of Jay Z pre- fame days.
On his Shot97 Radio show, Star reveals that Jay Z once sold him cocaine to him back in the 80s. Star states he’s “not trying to play Jay Z out” by revealing these stories about Jay Z drug past. According to Star, the man with 13 #1 album had a quality product in the 80s, but competition was stiff: Back in the late ‘80s, I went to this man on a few occasions, hand-to-hand. He had the good sh*t. Now his sh*t wasn’t as popping as the West Indians over in the 90s and in Flatbush. Them Shower Posse n*ggas must have had that shit shipped in from Columbia or some f*ckin’ where. Star does say Jay Z was a generous drug dealer “
when Star was short on payment. Jay Z has attributed his present business acumen that has helped him amass a reported net worth of $550 million to his drug dealing skills.
In his Vanity Fair cover story back in October 2013 Jay Z spoke on this connection: I know about budgets. I was a drug dealer. To be in a drug deal, you need to know what you can spend, what you need to re-up.

Lagos gets $200m World Bank support
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors has approved a total of US$200 million budget support to Lagos State for the ongoing reforms pertaining to fiscal sustainability, budget planning, budget execution, and the investment climate in Lagos State.
The first in a proposed series of two development policy operations, the donation builds upon the policy reforms initiated under a previous Bank supported program.
World Bank said that over the last decade, Lagos State has undertaken a wide range of reforms that have improved governance, reduced crime, and helped to bring millions out of poverty.
According to the World Bank, the goal of this program is to assist Lagos State in sustaining the strong momentum it has achieved in improving public services, facilitating inclusive growth, and reducing poverty.
“This includes measures to monitor and manage financial risks more effectively, ensure adequate growth in revenues, get better value for money in public expenditures, and improve institutions and processes for land registration and development permits”.
World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly, said, “Lagos State has sustained rapid growth and achieved what many would not have believed possible, and has managed to reduce its poverty headcount from 57% in 2004 to 23% in 2010. “However, it still faces significant challenges going forward in sustaining its economic growth and reducing poverty. This program will provide critical budgetary support to Lagos State to help the government continue key reforms in budgetary planning, execution, and improving the business climate,” she said. The program the World Bank said supports a number of specific measures that aim to increase the returns to budgetary resources in Lagos State, including the implementation of progressive new Procurement and Audit laws, a stronger link of planned budgetary allocations with development priorities, and the rollout of a computerized system that will allow more efficient and transparent financial management.
The operation also supports key reforms for the investment climate, particularly in land registration, as well as greater capacity in Lagos State to monitor financial risks. “The achievements of Lagos have inspired and boosted the hopes of other States that have initiated similar programs leading to knowledge sharing among them. The program is designed to support Lagos State in its endeavour to sustain its accomplishments,” said John Litwack, Program Task Team Leader and Lead Economist at the World Bank.
Disastrous Injury For Arsenal Ahead Of City Clash
Arsenal have received a boost ahead of the clash against Manchester City this weekend. Arsenal have a fair share of their own injury worries but they aren’t the only affected party as Manchester have theirs too.
According to the Daily Star , the Etihad giants will be without the services of their top striker Sergio Aguero against the Gunners.
The Argentine hit-man has been out of action owing to a hamstring injury. The absence of Aguero, is it really a boost?Yes but Manchester City are blessed with abundant of attacking talents and 8 goals in 2 matches is a testament to the fact that they aren’t really missing Aguero.
In Jovetic, Dzeko and Negredo, Manchester City have more than enough replacement for the Argentine. In Yaya Toure, the Manchester side also boast of a huge goal outlet.
Arsenal would do well to focus on the entire Manchester City as they can score for different outlets. The key to beating City would be defensive solidity, midfield discipline and sharp attack. They cannot afford to be profligate in attack if we really want to win the match. Hopefully, Wenger will get his selection right and the players selected would prove their mettle on the field.
It is high time we beat a top team and banish this feeling that we can’t stand toe to toe with our title rivals.

IKE UCHE OUT OF WORLD CUP Keshi speaks
Super Eagles Head Coach Stephen Keshi has closed the door on striker Ikechukwu Uche for the World Cup, saying he lacks tactical discipline.
Uche has been one of Nigeria’s reliable goal scorers and has scored 12 goals this season for Villarreal. On Monday night, the striker returned to action after he was sidelined by injury for two weeks.
He last featured for Nigeria in the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Burkina Faso. Keshi speaking to MTNFootball.com from his base in the United States said, “Ikechukwu Uche is not a player I have not seen play. Ike Uche problem is not knowing how to play football. “His problem is that he wants to dictate how we play in Super Eagles, he wants to tell us the system we’re playing is not good.
“Uche he has a very bad habit, that if you put him in the game he is not playing to instructions and he did that in the final of AFCON against Burkina Faso, he almost cost us.
“Again he did that against Zambia, in the second match when (Efe) Ambrose was given a red card. What we told him to do, he was doing the opposite.” Keshi added: “And if you don’t respect your team mates and you don’t respect the team, then there is no point. I know he cannot do that in his club, then why do it in the national team?
“I don’t think I need a player like that in the team.”

Choi. "God's grace is sufficient for my nakedness" - Maheeda
Maheeda, whose real name is Caroline Sam, says her going naked as a born again christian would never make God love her less.
She says His Grace is sufficient for her. Currently promoting her music, Maheeda in an interview with Encomium said she doesn't have any problems exposing herself "I dont have a problem doing what I do but I think its because of my job and I know most Christians would not understand. But I just believe that this is what I have to do to get attention especially when it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is enough for me. He loves me more than my nakedness. If you see God as a father and he sees you as a daughter, He would not because of your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you. That is how I see God. He understands me. He hates me but he loves me at the same time".
Asked what happened to her once-upon-a-time gospel status, the raunchy artiste replied "I think what happened was just spiritual maturity. At a stage in your life, you have to take a break and grow up or else every artiste would just be wrong. I needed to grow spiritually. Christians call it Born- again. I am standing in the gap for Christians and Muslims". Maheeda said she has always loved music but was thirsty for stardom since childhood. She said she hasn't been reaping the fruits from her musical album but has been getting contracts for guest appearances.
She claims she was recently abroad to attend the birthday party of a bigshot and was paid 3000 dollars just for coming and not singing.

LIVERPOOL OVERCOME SWANSEA IN DRAMATIC GOAL
Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson both scored twice as Liverpool maintained their Premier League title push with a crazy 4-3 win over Swansea City at Anfield.
In a match that showcased both their devastating attacking power and worrying defensive frailty, Brendan Rodgers’s side raced into a two-goal lead before letting Swansea draw level - then powering away to a result that sees them stay in the title race with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Sturridge opened the scoring in the third minute following brilliant work by Raheem Sterling, who won possession in his own half and played a perfect 50-yard through ball. Sturridge beat Michel Vorm to it, and the England striker finished into the empty net. Sterling could well join his colleague in Brazil this summer. Jordan Henderson doubled the lead on 20 minutes with a sweeping finish into the top corner from the edge of the box, but rather than consolidate the home side defended slackly. Former Liverpool man Jonjo Shelvey thumped in off the bar - his muted celebration drawing applause from the Anfield crowd - before Wilfried Bony’s deflected header beat Simon Mignolet.
Parity did not last long, as a fine Liverpool team move culminated in Luis Suarez crossing for Sturridge to head his 18th goal in 19 Premier League games this season.
Swansea equalised for the second time early in the second half when Martin Skrtel manhandled Bony and the Ivorian beat Mignolet from the penalty spot. Liverpool came again, Luis Suarez had a penalty appeal rejected after a theatrical fall, and the game’s seventh goal finally came after Ashley Williams blocked a Suarez shot.
Vorm parried Henderson’s first shot on the rebound but could do nothing about the second.

Ron Artest’s Brother Blasts The New York Knicks On Twitter
Culled from AllHipHop: Ron Artest may have changed his last name to World Peace but his brother seems to be just fine at war.
Today (February 22nd) Daniel Artest took to his personal Twitter account to air out his grievances with how the New York Knicks have treated his brother, Metta World Peace and reveals his evaluation of the Knicks as an organization.
The 31 year old former basketball prodigy was “disappointed” in the playing time his brother received and compared the Knicks organization to World Peace’s prior team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Artest even alleged that World Peace once warned him that the New York Knicks Public Relations department were monitoring his Twitter activity: The only members of the New York Knicks organization that Artest called out by name were James Dolan (owner of New York Knicks) and Mike Woodson (New York Knicks head coach). Artest accused Woodson of being a “yes man” and jokingly alleged that Dolan was being extorted: This comes less than a hour after World Peace tweeted that the New York Knicks were working to buyout his contract and release him: My agent just informed me this release could happen any hr now.
I just want to say “Thanks for everything” Metta World Peace signed a two year deal with the New York Knicks this past summer worth $1.6 million per season.
He has only played in 29 of the 56 games the Knicks have played this season and is averaging 13.4 minutes and 4.8 points per game.

I actually wanted to laugh it off, but on second thought, I think its worth it, to avoid the "monkey dey walk baboon dey chop" term...
Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike is looking up to the heavens to keep him free from injuries ahead of the world cup slated for June in Brazil.
This is against the backdrop of injury the top striker suffered in the run-up to the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil last year. “Here’s hoping I can make up for it at the World Cup. It’s an occasion that obviously means a great deal to me. Events don’t come any bigger. It’s going to be amazing. I pray that I don’t get injured this time. I injured my knee a few weeks before the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament and unfortunately had to pull out,” Emenike said.

I say amen for him ooo

Prepare Your Will, Navy Tells Officers
As part of measures to prepare their officers for any eventuality, the Nigerian Navy (NN) hierarchy has called on its personnel to make valid wills that would take care of their affairs if something happens to them.
The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral Goddy Anyankpele, made this call at the end of the one-day seminar on ‘Administration of Estate of Deceased personnel’ held yesterday in Lagos. He said the seminar was to sensitise NN personnel on the administration of estate and also provide useful and practical guide on how to make a valid will.
The seminar, which was in line with the NN schedule of event for the year, had the FOC reiterate the need for personnel to write their wills to prevent unwanted persons from gaining access to their property.
He said, “It is better to use one’s spouse as next of kin because no one can really take care of your children more than a spouse. It is not only the rich that writes a will as is erroneously perceived by some people. Therefore, we insist that every officer writes his will now to avoid family rivalry resulting from sharing the deceased properties.”
In her lecture, Lieutenant Commander Nkechi Chukwuka said the existence of a will makes it possible and easy for a person to tidy up his estate to the standard he desires.
She said, “A valid will ensures that the family is protected and the quality of life set out for the family is not denied them even at his death. Also, the will can state that the wife is not to be put through any mourning rites that violate her fundamental human rights.”

Chelsea set to offload Mikel.. hmmmm
John Mikel Obi's days at Chelsea could be numbered as the club look set to offload the Nigeria international at the end of the season.
According to reports in England, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has informed Mikel he can leave the side for a small fee this summer.
The Premier League giants have already started looking for Mikel's replacement, with Olympique Marseille's Gianelli Imbula identified as a potential successor.
Mikel has become unsettled at Chelsea since the return of Mourinho to west London. The midfielder, who was earlier linked with a move to Galatasary and AS Monaco, has fallen further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the January arrival of Nemanja Matic.

Lols! Garcelle Beauvais says Beyonce needs to cover up and stop being raunchy
In a recent interview with Hello Beautiful , 47 year old actress and mother of two Garcelle Beauvais said she's shocked at how women in entertainment show too much skin these days and says Beyonce can still be sexy without going overboard.
"For me, there's so many ways to be sexy without being overt about it. As I get older, I still want to be sexy, but I want to do it in a different way.
I want to do it in a way that’s more classy. Certain things are just too overt for kids.
I love Beyonce. I love her. I think she’s beautiful and talented. But, I think there has to be a fine line where you have to take responsibility for what you do.
I think it’s good to be sexy, but sexy can come across in so many different ways. It doesn’t have to be everything showing, out grinding all of the time."
