"I want to win the World Cup next year. I know
we can do it. We have the team, we have the
players and I have the belief in my heart that
we will do it," Enyeama told
KickOffNigeria.com . "After the World Cup, I
can retire from international football."
Nigeria have never gone past the second round
of the World Cup, and Enyeama admits the
very idea of winning it could be considered a
stretch.

"I know a lot of people will think I am crazy,
but that’s what happened in January when I
told one journalist we would win the Nations
Cup.
"We have a great coach, we have a good team
and we are playing really well. So why can't we
win it?"
First, the Super Eagles will have to negotiate
the small matter of actually qualifying for the
tournament. The Lille goalkeeper concedes it
will be no walk in the park.
"There are some great teams there who have
qualified, so it will be very tough. Egypt have
not lost a game, and they were the last African
team to beat us.
"Cameroon may be having problems, but they
are still a very strong team. We have played
Ethiopia before and we know how hard they
can be especially on their home ground.
“Tunisia gave us a lot of trouble during the last
World Cup qualifiers and Senegal have some
very fantastic players, so no game will be easy.
"But teams will be trying to avoid us because
we have been doing very well, too. It will not be easy, but we will have to stay focused, work hard, not underrate anyone and believe in our own ability," he added.
WHAT DO YOU THINK: Is Vincent Enyeama being realistic?
